Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 6 (ANI): Two coaches, numbers 3 and 4, of the Panchvati Express, on their way to Mumbai, decoupled near the Kasara station on Saturday.
According to Chief Public Relations Officers (CPRO), Central Railways, “Coach numbers 3 and 4 of Panchvati Express decoupled near Kasara station at 8.40 am while coming towards Mumbai.”
As per the Central Railway officials, the problem was quickly resolved, and the coaches were successfully recoupled by 9:02 am. After confirming the train’s safety and security, it continued its journey to Mumbai around 9:15 am.
“The train was detained for nearly 35 minutes, and there was no other damage or injury to anyone. Trains are running smoothly in the said line now,” said the railway officials.
Earlier this week, Union Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Singh Bittu, conducted a surprise inspection of the Railway Board canteen on Thursday.
The visit, which coincided with the lunch hour, saw the minister reviewing facilities and services at the canteen.
The Secretary of the Railway Board and other senior officials of the Railway Board were also present during the inspection.
MoS Bittu interacted with the canteen manager and staff, inquiring about the operations and services. He visited various areas in the canteen, including the cash counter where employee meal coupons are issued, the kitchen area where food is prepared, and the juice counter.
He also took the opportunity to engage with Railway Board staff during their lunch break, personally enquiring about the food quality.
During the interaction, Railway Board staff expressed satisfaction with the canteen services. However, emphasising the importance of hygiene and best-quality food, the Minister directed the canteen manager to maintain these high standards.
Bittu is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh and the son of former Punjab Minister Tej Parkash Singh. (ANI)
