Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], August 26 (ANI): A group of 31 youths from five villages near the Palnar Camp in the Maoist-affected Bijapur district had the opportunity to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah today in Naya Raipur.
For many of these young individuals, it was their first experience stepping out of Bijapur and witnessing the state capital, Raipur.
The meeting was also graced by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, and Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap.
During the interaction, Union Home Minister Shah engaged with the youths, inquiring about their well-being and extending his best wishes for their future endeavours.
The youths, during their visit to Raipur, explored key landmarks such as Purkhauti Muktangan, Mahanadi Bhavan (Mantralaya), Mevan Steel Plant, Magneto Mall, the International Cricket Stadium, and Raipur Railway Station.
They arrived in Raipur on the night of August 23 and are scheduled to return to Bijapur after visiting the Gangrel Dam.
Notably, the villages surrounding the Palnar security camp are beneficiaries of the Niyad Nellanar Scheme, which aims to provide essential infrastructure like roads, electricity, water supply, ration, schools, hospitals, and Anganwadi centres.
The scheme ensures that all eligible beneficiaries in these villages receive the advantages of both central and state government initiatives.
The Niyad Nellanar Scheme is operational within a five-kilometre radius of the security camp, extending its reach to 33 villages in the Bijapur district.
The Bijapur district administration, under this initiative, introduced these youths to the industrial growth and employment opportunities in Raipur, as well as various developmental activities.
This exposure has infused the youths with new enthusiasm and aspirations, with many now keen on engaging in livelihood opportunities and shaping a brighter future for themselves. (ANI)
