Those present at the Aarti included Principal Secretary to the Governor, Pravin Darade, Joint Secretary Shweta Singhal, and Comptroller of the Governor’s Household, Jitendra Wagh. The aarti was part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at the Governor’s residence.

Earlier, on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi, President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings to Indians worldwide. “On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all Indians living in India and abroad,” she said. The President highlighted the festival’s role in promoting harmony and called on citizens to work for a peaceful and prosperous India.
PM Modi also wished the nation saying, “Heartiest greetings of Ganesh Chaturthi to all countrymen. Ganpati Bappa Morya.”
Sharing his wishes on the occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Ganpati Bappa Morya! Heartiest greetings of Shri Ganesh Chaturthi to all the countrymen. I wish that Vighnaharta Shri Ganpati Bappa brings happiness, peace and prosperity in the life of all of you.”
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also shared his wishes, saying, “Lord Ganesha, the embodiment of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune, holds a special place in the hearts of millions.”
Ganesh Chaturthi, a ten-day festival, begins today and will end on Anantha Chaturdashi. Devotees across Maharashtra are preparing for celebrations by bringing idols home and visiting pandals. Also in the news is Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi in Nagpur, which began Ganesh Chaturthi with traditional morning prayers and ‘aarti’. This temple, reportedly 250 years old, is known for its self-existent deity, whose shrine is said to grow over time.(ANI)
