New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, on Tuesday released ‘Paving the Path to Viksit Bharat’, a special booklet, and eight flyers depicting the important achievements of the last 100 days under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing media persons, Shah said that Modi ji was born in a poor family, he became the Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy and 15 different countries of the world have awarded him with the highest honour of their country, which has increased the pride of not only our Prime Minister but of entire India.
He underlined that after running a government dedicated to India’s development, security and welfare of the poor for 10 consecutive years, the people of the country have given us the mandate to form the government for the third time in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“For the first time after 60 years, a leader is leading the country by becoming the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. For the first time in 60 years, there is an atmosphere of political stability in the country and the country has sustained itself on its policies. Entering the 11th year ensuring that the policies continue to deliver as per the expectations while maintaining the speed and accuracy of their implementation over a period of 10 years is a very difficult and a great achievement,” Amit Shah said.
The Union Home Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has achieved great success in building a safe India by strengthening the country’s external and internal security and defence system in the last 10 years.
“PM Modi has done the work of bringing radical changes in education and bringing new education policy by incorporating our ancient educational values, glorifying languages and incorporating modern education. Today, India has become the most preferred destination for production activities in the whole world. Many countries of the world want to understand, accept and make our Digital India scheme the basis of their development. In the last 10 years, for the first time since independence, a robust foreign policy is in place,” Shah said.
Turning to welfare programmes, Amit Shah noted that the government had provided essential services such as housing, electricity, drinking water, and health coverage to 60 crore underprivileged citizens over the past decade. He also set an ambitious goal of ensuring every Indian owns a home within the next five years.
Furthermore, Shah spoke of the Modi government’s dedication to youth empowerment, stating that India’s youth are now equipped to compete on the global stage.
On agriculture, Shah praised the initiatives aimed at improving farmers’ livelihoods, noting that food security has increased to the point where India is on the brink of becoming self-sufficient and capable of exporting surplus.
“Additionally, under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government has distributed Rs 20,000 crore to 9.5 crore farmers, with a total of Rs 3 lakh crore provided to 12.33 crore farmers since the scheme’s inception,” he said.
He also mentioned advancements in ethanol production, which can now be derived from maize in addition to sugarcane, thanks to reforms in cooperative sugar mills.
“Housing schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have also sanctioned millions of homes for both urban and rural areas. Additionally, the government’s focus on green energy was highlighted with the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, which has brought solar energy to over 2.5 lakh households,” he added.
The Union Home Minister also stressed the government’s commitment to creating job opportunities, especially through capital expenditure projects worth Rs 11 lakh crore and the development of 12 industrial zones. These initiatives, he said, “Will help create numerous employment opportunities for India’s youth. The government’s focus on promoting innovation through startup incentives, the Mudra loan increase from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, and MSME credit guarantees was also discussed.”
For women, Shah said that over 90 lakh self-help groups have been formed under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, with 11 lakh women earning at least Rs 1 lakh annually under the Lakhpati Didi scheme. “Efforts are also being made to involve women in tourism initiatives through Paryatan Didi and to link technology-savvy youth with tourism and other sectors,” he said.
He also outlined the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan, aimed at developing 63,000 tribal villages and improving the livelihoods of five crore tribal people. He also highlighted initiatives for the disabled, with three lakh new identity cards issued in the last 100 days.
The Union Minister noted that significant reforms are also underway in the judicial sector with the introduction of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).
“These three new laws, which replace the colonial-era criminal codes, are aimed at making India’s justice system more accessible and timely,” he said.
He ended his remarks by underscoring the government’s forward-looking vision, including the development of semiconductor manufacturing, the celebration of Space Day, and the signing of peace agreements with insurgent groups in Tripura.
He concluded by asserting that all these achievements reflect the Modi government’s unwavering dedication to India’s security, development, and welfare in just 100 days of its third term, with much more to come. (ANI)
