Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], October 6 (ANI): Former Chief Minister and YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke with party worker, Challa Nagaraju, over the phone, and consoled him over alleged attack against him in Telukutla village of Palnadu district
President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy consoled a party worker, Challa Nagaraju, over the phone, following an alleged attack in Telukutla village of Palnadu district, according to a press release issued by the YSRCP.
YSRCP has alleged that the attack was carried out by the TDP supporters.
Upon learning about the incident, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke to Nagaraju over the phone to console him and inquired about his health condition. He expressed his wishes for Nagaraju’s speedy recovery and assured him that the party would provide full support during his treatment and recovery process.
The former CM also instructed former MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy to ensure that Nagaraju receives all necessary medical assistance and to take good care of him.
Nagaraju is an active YSRCP worker since the last assembly elections and has served as a polling agent for the party in his village. Following the election results, local TDP leaders began threatening him out of political rivalry. Fearing for his safety, Nagaraju had left his native village of Telukutla and relocated to Pulipadu, the release stated.
On September 20, while returning from Telukutla after a personal errand, Nagaraju was ambushed by a group of 10 TDP members near Gadidala Vagu on the outskirts of the village, YSRCP alleged.
The attackers, who were reportedly armed with rods and sticks, brutally assaulted Nagaraju, breaking both his legs in multiple places. He was rushed to Gurazala Government Hospital for primary care and was later shifted to Narasaraopet’s GBR Hospital for advanced treatment, the party further stated.
Doctors have stated that Nagaraju’s right leg may not be salvageable, and surgery below the knee might be necessary, the release added. (ANI)
