New Delhi [India], October 12 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually dedicated 74 infrastructure projects constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) at a cost of Rs 2236 crore to the nation on Saturday.

Nineteen (19) are in Jammu and Kashmir, 18 in Arunachal Pradesh, 11 in Ladakh, nine in Uttarakhand, six in Sikkim, five in Himachal Pradesh, two each in West Bengal and Rajasthan and one each in Nagaland, Mizoram and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla joined the program virtually from Raj Bhawan Shimla.

The inauguration was carried out in a hybrid mode.
The Governor highlighted the importance of these strategic roads to facilitate the speedy induction of troops and equipment up to the Indo-China border. He said that the provisioning of bridges would also help the local populace in the socio-economic development of the area. He also appreciated the hard work of BRO in inhospitable terrain.
Governor Shukla said that BRO completed the construction of these critical strategic projects in the State in a record time frame and many of these Projects have been constructed in a single working season using state-of-the-art technology.
