“Personal loss for us”, says Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam on Baba Siddiqui murder – World News Network

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 13 (ANI): Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam dubbed it a “personal loss” on Sunday after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai.
Speaking to ANI, Sanjay Nirupam said that the incident “is worrying and unfortunate” adding that Baba Siddiqui “was a very good person.”
Siddique was shot at near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra and later succumbed to his bullet injuries at Lilavati Hospital late Saturday night.
“The incident that happened yesterday is very worrying and unfortunate. He was a very good person, he always helped everyone. This is a personal loss for us,” he said.
Nirupam urged for stringent action against the culprits and detailed investigation in the case.
“Mumbai Police and the government will have to take stringent action in this incident. Two killers have been caught, one is absconding. I was told that they were living in Kurla for a week and were doing a recce of him (Baba Siddiqui), so who brought them and who gave the contract, this should be investigated as soon as possible,” Sanjay Nirupam said.
“When a criminal incident happens, questions are raised about the government and the police, but after that, it would be a bit excessive to say that the entire law and order has collapsed. I ask those who are demanding resignation from Devendra Fadnavis to sit on his chair and then guarantee that such an incident will never happen again. There should be no politics in such cases,” he added.
Earlier, Mumbai’s Esplanade Court sent Gurmail Singh, one of the accused, to the custody of Mumbai Crime Branch till October 21.
Mumbai police earlier presented the two accused in the Baba Siddique firing case, Gurmail Singh and Dharmraj Singh Kashyap in Mumbai’s Esplanade Court. Esplanade court has also directed to present the second accused again after conducting his ossification test, a medical procedure for determining age.
A search operation for the third accused has been launched, the police said. (ANI)
