New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Human Resources Development, IT Electronics and Communications, emphasised efforts to develop the state’s proposed capital Amaravati as a “premier world-class city” powered by green energy during the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Leadership Summit 2024, in New Delhi on Monday.
Speaking on occasion, Nara Lokesh said that the state government is determined to compete with “global capitals.”
“We are determined to compete with global capitals, not merely those within India, and this vision drives our efforts for the state. Amravati is set to become India’s premier world-class city -powered by green energy and featuring innovative systems such as district cooling, all while embracing deep technological integration,” Nara Lokesh said.
He also highlighted the skill census undertaken in the state and dubbed it as “one of its kind” in the world.
“The skill census we’re conducting is one of its kind in the world. We will go door-to-door to understand the skillsets people possess, and based on that, plan our interventions for families. This will involve micro-targeting to ensure precise and effective outcomes,” Nara Lokesh outlined.
The Andhra Minister said his educational experience outside the country helped him to “foster character and integrity” within the educational sphere.
“One aspect that had a profound impact on me was the absence of invigilators during our final exams at Stanford. This experience taught me the importance of fostering character and integrity within the educational sphere,” he said.
Speaking at the Summit, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted significant advancements in the telecom sector, describing a “complete sea transformation” in service delivery to the country’s 1.4 billion citizens.
Scindia emphasized the remarkable success of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), and said, “The concept of UPI a united payment interface, in the month of August, we did a transaction of one month of USD 275 billion in a month. 15 billion transactions in India. We’ve had the fastest 5g roll out in the world. 22 months. Rolled out 5g across 98 per cent of India’s districts, covering 80 per cent of our population.”
“We will roll out our our 4G network which is going tk switch to 5G. We will be the sixth country that will be able to do it. We are pushing forward on engine. PM mOdi visit to US has been landmark visit. So I think India and the US both are moving on not a footing, but multiple footings, to make sure that we go beyond the technology curve as we grow to greater adoption,” Scindia outlined.
Ryan Roslansky, CEO of LinkedIn, joined by addressing the rapid evolution of job skills in the face of technological advancements.
“As we move forward in this technology paradigm shift where AI is playing much more of a role that will change the way that we work, the way that we live, the way that we interact as human beings,” he said.
The USISP Leadership Summit 2024 kickstarted with a meeting between Board of Directors and Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar in Delhi on Sunday evening.
This summit follows on the heels of PM Modi’s successful visit to the United States for the Sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit and the United Nations General Assembly.
The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) aims to create a powerful partnership between the United States and India. As the only independent not-for-profit institution dedicated to strengthening the US-India partnership.
The day-long summit will bring together senior cabinet ministers, USISPF’s Board Delegation, global business leaders, and key policymakers for high-level discussions on strengthening trade, defence, technology, education, energy, start-ups, healthcare and people-to-people ties. (ANI)
