Rajasthan by-polls: Bharat Adivasi Party announces candidates for Chorasi, Salumbar seats – World News Network

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 19 (ANI): The Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) on Saturday announced its candidates for two seats for Rajasthan by-polls that will be held on November 13.
The party announced its candidates for the Chorasi and Salumbar assembly constituencies.
In a post on X, the BAP said, “The official candidate of Vidhan Sabha Chaurasi will be *Anil Katara*!!!”
“Jitesh Katara is the official candidate of BAP from assembly constituency Salumbar,” the party added on X.
In Rajasthan, by-polls will be held on seven seats including Chorasi, Khinwsar, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Deoli-Uniara, Salumber and Ramgarh.
The Election Commission on October 15 announced by-polls to 48 assembly constituencies including nine seats in Uttar Pradesh and the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala.
The announcement was made by the Chief Commissioner Rajiv Kumar at a press conference in which he also announced dates of assembly polls in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
While polling will be held on 47 assembly seats and Wayanad Lok Sabha seat on Nov 13, it will be held on one assembly constituency in Uttarakhand and Nanded constituency in Maharashtra on November 20. Assembly polls in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20. Maharashtra will go to the polls on November 20. The results will be declared on November 23.
The by-polls are spread over 15 states – Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
The largest number of by-polls will be held in Uttar Pradesh and seats going to the polls are Meerapur, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Khair, Karhal, Phulpur, Katehari, Majhawan, and Sishamau.
Bharat Adivasi Party was formed just ahead of the last assembly elections in Rajasthan last year. It won three seats in the state elections. The party has marked its presence in the state by winning the Lok Sabha seat of Banswara as well as the by-elections on the Bagidora assembly seat. (ANI)
