CM Stalin working on welfare programmes for temples since taking office: Tamil Nadu Minister PK Sekar Babu – World News Network

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], August 25 (ANI): On the second day of the two-day ‘Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference’ being held in Palani, Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu Minister PK Sekar Babu said that Chief Minister MK Stalin has been doing various welfare programmes for devotees and temples since taking office.
Addressing media, PK Sekar Babu said, “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has been doing various welfare programs for the devotees and temples in 31 months since taking office as the Chief Minister. A consultative meeting was held on February 27 this year under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister in which ten resolutions were passed. In the consultation meeting, a resolution was passed that a Murugan conference should be held for Murugan devotees and the conference work was carried out.”
Shekar Babu said that more than 600 artists participated in the Murugan conference held on Saturday.
“The conference was a huge success. All Adheenams in Tamil Nadu participated. People from abroad, including Japan, Australia, Germany and Malaysia, participated in this conference. Yesterday, we expected 25 thousand people to attend this conference but lakhs of people attended. People from all walks of life have accepted that the Tamil Nadu government can hold this conference for Lord Murugan,” he added.
He said that Prasad had been given to 50 thousand people on Saturday.
“16 resolutions selected with the knowledge of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin are to be passed in this conference. I am informed that the exhibition set up here will be extended for five days for the public. This Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference is a program being organised by the Hindu Charities Department and the Government of Tamil Nadu for Lord Murugan. Although the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has various programmes, he participated in our conference through a video presentation,” he added.
According to District PRO, more than 50 devotees of Lord Murugan from Japan participated in the Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference.
The conference aims to bring together the devotees and harness the philosophy of Lord Murugan. Shri Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple in Palani has been adorned with colourful lights.
Sekar Babu and Minister R Sakkarapani inaugurated the two-day ‘Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference’.
Chief Minister M K Stalin extended greetings on the first day of the Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference through video conferencing on Saturday in Palani in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu.
CM Stalin said that the Dravidian government aims to benefit all faiths and has never hindered any religious belief.
“Everyone has different beliefs. The Dravidian government has never been a hindrance to those beliefs and is a government that can benefit all faiths. Dravidian Model is based on the concept of everything to everyone,” CM Stalin said.
CM Stalin further appreciated the efforts of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister P K Sekar Babu for organising the two-day conference that aims to bring together the devotees and harness the philosophy of Lord Murugan.
“It was only after Shekharbabu became the Minister of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department that the department has been working brilliantly. I gave him this department to take care of the temple but he stays in the temple and performs the services,” CM Stalin said.CM Stalin emphasised the message of equality.
“In temple worship, Tamil should be accorded prime importance. Furthermore, within the sacred precincts of the temple, there should be no discrimination among humans based on caste,” CM Stalin said. (ANI)
