“Congress blood flows in veins of Yogeshwar”: DK Shivakumar after former BJP leader joins party – World News Network

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], October 24 (ANI): After former Bharatiya Janata Party leader CP Yogeshwar joined Congress on Wednesday, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that the former joined the party unconditionally as he has “Congress blood in his veins”.
Speaking at an event at the KPCC office to welcome former BJP MLC into the Congress party, he said, “He started his politics from Congress. He met me this morning and said he would like to come back to the party fold and resume his political career once again. He wants to be a Congressman once again after being in NDA for some time.”
“I discussed his joining the party with the CM on the telephone and I also discussed it with other party leaders. He has been inducted into the party after taking everybody into confidence. Politics is the art of possible. He has been in SP, BJP, and is an independent candidate. He worked with the JDS to elect the NDA candidate in the Lok Sabha elections. Political equations have changed and hence he has come back to the Congress party,” Shivakumar added.
The Karnataka Deputy CM further asserted that many of the party workers have built the party from the ground up and he will ensure those party workers are not embarrassed.
“We will take care of them. We have instructed Yogeshwar also to take everyone along. All the party workers need to work together,” he said.
When asked why the party inducted someone who defeated DK Suresh in the Lok Sabha elections, he said, “Such things happen in all parties. We have discussed this with our party workers before taking a decision.”
DK Shivakumar also mentioned that the nomination will be filed on Thursday at 11 am.
“We are sending the list of candidates to the High Command today itself. Mallikarjun Kharge will finalise the list. DK Suresh was given the responsibility of finalising the candidate for Channapatna and he has already had a discussion with Kharge. The nomination will be filed tomorrow at 11 am,” he said. (ANI)
