Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 5 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday emphasized that exemplary technology and human behaviour are essential for any medical institution to be effective and successful.
“Technology should be up-to-date and capable of anticipating future advancements. Additionally, the entire medical team should exhibit great sensitivity,” he said.
CM Yogi made these remarks while addressing a gathering after inaugurating the fourth state-of-the-art radiotherapy machine (Varian Halcyon) at Hanuman Prasad Poddar Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Geeta Vatika on Friday evening.
He stated, “Whether an individual or an institution fails to keep pace with time, it results in being left behind. Therefore, it is crucial to stay ahead of time to foster healthy competition in our field.”
CM Yogi also noted that medical institutions must stay connected with ongoing research in the medical and health sectors to stay ahead.
He pointed out that people’s ability to afford healthcare has increased, and many facilities are now available at the government level. “Numerous individuals in the state have benefited from schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and the Chief Minister Relief Fund. As a result, there is a growing demand for high-quality facilities,” the Chief Minister said.
Yogi also emphasized that cutting-edge technology and compassionate human behaviour are crucial for a medical institution. Doctors, paramedical staff, nurses, and all associated personnel should empathize with patients, treat their pain as their own, and serve them with dedication. “Additionally, the institution needs to keep pace with technological advancements,” he remarked.
The CM highlighted that staying ahead of time in treating diseases like cancer is even more critical for the institution and stressed the importance of continuous efforts to ensure citizens benefit from the latest research.
Commending Hanuman Prasad Poddar Cancer Hospital for its commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements, Yogi said, “Since 2013, the hospital has consistently embraced new technologies, installing four state-of-the-art machines sequentially to provide exceptional treatment facilities.”
He remarked that the hospital swiftly replaces older technologies with newer ones. CM Yogi highlighted that Hanuman Prasad Poddar Cancer Hospital, which has established a distinguished reputation in health and medicine, will celebrate its golden jubilee next year, marking 50 years of service. He assured that the government is fully prepared to support any significant initiatives undertaken by the hospital.
Yogi also remarked that in the past, a cancer diagnosis brought immense sorrow to entire families, often only discovered at an advanced stage. “Today, people can receive better treatment with improved healthcare access and support from schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and the Chief Minister Relief Fund,” he said.
“The government fully supports the people’s healthcare needs, and raising societal awareness about these benefits is crucial,” Yogi added.
The CM also urged other charitable organizations to contribute to healthcare and education. By working together, the government and these organizations can offer the best possible facilities.
On this occasion, while paying tribute to Hanuman Prasad Poddar ‘Bhai Ji’ and his dedicated associate Radha Baba, Yogi acknowledged their lifelong commitment to public welfare. He emphasized that both Bhai Ji and Radha Baba viewed service to humanity as service to God, highlighting that true service involves aiding the poor and afflicted.
At the inauguration ceremony of the state-of-the-art cancer radiotherapy machine, the Medical Director of Cancer Hospital, Dr. HR Mali, and Trustee of the Hanuman Prasad Poddar Memorial Committee, Vishnu Prasad Ajit Sariya, welcomed the Chief Minister with a bouquet.
After inaugurating the advanced radiotherapy machine at Hanuman Prasad Poddar Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the machine and received information about its operation from the specialist doctor present. (ANI)
