“Excellent blueprint…”: Andhra CM Naidu discusses plan to develop Amaravati as Andhra Pradesh’s capital – World News Network

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], October 19 (ANI): Discussing the plan for Amaravati’s development as the state capital, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu said that there’s an excellent blueprint, adding that Amaravati is not just a state capital, it is the pride of the nation.
“There is an excellent blueprint. Now, we have to execute it by improving further. It is a model capital. Without farmers, you cannot build this type of city, that we have done. I asked my people to start the work, and they have started. Now, we have to further study globally what are the best practices available, we will improve further. Ultimately, this is the city which is going to get pride for the nation. Amaravati is not just a state capital; it is the pride of the nation,” CM Naidu told reporters.
Earlier today, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister inaugurated Amaravati reconstruction works and said that the farmers voluntarily came forward and contributed immensely by giving their land for the sake of the development of Amaravati.
“Today, we are here to rewrite history. We started the state with a 16 per cent lower budget, yet within two years, we developed the necessary infrastructure for governance. We developed Hyderabad, laying eight-lane roads, and introduced the metro. Many criticized me for sanctioning 5,000 acres of land for the airport, but today, Hyderabad Airport contributes 16 per cent to the GSDP,” said the Chief Minister.
He further said that for the development of Amaravati as the capital, farmers voluntarily came forward and gave their land for its construction.
“More than 29,000 farmers contributed, and a total of 54,000 acres, including government land, were collected for building the capital city. In the past five years, the previous government neglected the farmers in the Amaravati region. These farmers have fought and protested for the capital city,” he said. (ANI)
