Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 5 (ANI): Spiritual leader Sadhvi Rithambara expressed her gratitude for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela, where he took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on Wednesday, saying that such an act is great for propagating the traditions of the country.
“This is good fortune for the country that the Prime Minister has come for a bath at Triveni Sangam. This is also good for our traditions, everyone is happy, and I am happy too. He is respecting a large population’s traditions, what can be more joyful than that?” Sadhvi Rithambara told ANI.
The Prime Minister offered prayers at Triveni Sangam – the confluence of three rivers, Ganga and Yamuna at the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Sadhvi Satyapriya, a disciple of Sadhvi Rithambara became the new Mahamandaleshwar of Niranjani Panchayati Akhara today.
Sadhvi Satyapriya, while talking to ANI expressed her gratitude for being able to get such a position in the akhara.
“It is all with the blessings of my Gurudev (teacher) that I have been made the Mahamandaleshwar of Niranjani Panchayati akhara. I have joined the traditions of this akhara, and to push forward the same traditions, after all the life of a sadhu is for the country, for Dharm (tradition). I am thankful for getting the blessings of everyone to carry out those duties,” she said.
Prime Minister Modi took a holy dip at the Sangam wearing a bright saffron jacket and blue track pants.
The Maha Kumbh 2025, which commenced on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, attracting devotees from across the globe. The Mahakumbh will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.
In line with his commitment to promote and preserve India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, the prime minister has consistently taken proactive steps to enhance infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites.
According to Uttar Pradesh government data, the total number of bathers since the commencement of Mahakumbh has exceeded 382 million as of February 4, underlining the event’s unparalleled spiritual and cultural significance. (ANI)
