“I prayed to Mother Goddess to give me power to tolerate”: Robert Vadra on BJP’s remarks – World News Network

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] October 12 (ANI): After offering prayers at the Mumba Devi Temple in Mumbai, businessman Robert Vadra said that he prayed that the Mother Goddess would give him enough power to tolerate, referring to the recent remark by Bharatiya Janata Party leaders on him.
BJP leaders in recent campaigning for Haryana Assembly Elections took a jibe at Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who criticised Congress saying, “Congress had handed over Haryana to Dalals and Damads.”
Speaking with ANI after offering prayers, Vadra said, “Dussehra is the symbol of truth being triumph. I prayed for peace and prosperity in the nation and an end to atrocities against women… I prayed that the Mother Goddess would give me enough power to tolerate – when many of the ministers including the PM took my name while campaigning. After darshan, I can feel that I got that power.”
Earlier during the election campaigning for Haryana Election, Union Minister Rajnath Singh specially referred to Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, and said, “It is their ‘damaad ji’ (son-in-law) who took the land of farmers. It was not some relative of the BJP who did that.”
Earlier on October 9, Vadra accused BJP of “using his name” to gain political advantage.
They (BJP) use my name always, but the Khattar government has given me a clean chit twice over those allegations that they put against me. They (BJP) must look towards addressing the grievances of people as they have been elected for the third term,” Vadra told ANI.
He said that though he is not in politics, many parties dragged him into politics.
“I am not in politics, but many parties have used my name for the last 10-15 years, and hence I had to adapt to political ways. They dragged me into politics, and hence, I take an interest in politics, and I meet people in different states,” he said.
The Congress in Haryana could not capitalise on the 10 years of anti-incumbency of the BJP government. The BJP won 48 out of 90 seats in the Haryana assembly, while Congress managed to win 37 seats. Independents won 3 seats, and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) secured 2 seats. (ANI)
