Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 11 (ANI): Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party President BY Vijayendra on Thursday attacked the state government over the Dengue cases in the state and said that the Karnataka government is not “bothered”, adding that BJP will raise the in Assembly.
“This (state) govt is not at all bothered. Even the concerned minister is sitting in Bengaluru and not touring the state. The state govt has not taken this issue seriously. Day by day dengue cases and deaths are increasing. In my constituency, a nine-month-old baby passed away due to dengue. We will raise this issue in the Assembly also,” Vijayendra told reporters.

He further attacked Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and said that he was only interested in real estate.
“The present Congress govt is least bothered about development of the state. Development works have come to a standstill in the state. Now, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar is talking about renaming Ramanagara district to Bengaluru South. God knows what is the agenda behind this decision. Entire Karnataka knows that DK Shivakumar is interested only in real estate. I think there is a real estate agenda behind this thinking. It is a political gimmick,” he said.
Karnataka has witnessed over 7000 cases in the state, after which Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah instructed the officials to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
He further instructed the officials to allocate 10 beds in a ward at every hospital separately for dengue cases.
Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Tuesday said that they are strictly monitoring the situation adding that all departments have been instructed to keep doing source reduction.
“We are monitoring the situation…we have strictly instructed all departments to keep doing source reduction…we have asked Asha workers and volunteers to go house to house…govt is working full time…main thing is to control the spread of mosquito and also to stop deaths from happening,” Karnataka Health Minister said.
The cases of dengue are on the surge with advancing monsoon rains in Bengaluru, Karnataka, as of July 10. (ANI)
