Damoh (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 5 (ANI): Remembering Rani Durgavati on her 500th birth anniversary on Saturday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav chaired a cabinet meeting in Singrampur, Damoh district, which has been the capital of her kingdom and made various announcements for the development of the district.

CM Yadav also interacted with artists here and paid tribute to the grand statue of Rani Durgavati installed here. Besides, the CM addressed a public gathering, transferred funds to beneficiaries of various schemes, including Mukhyamantri Laldi Behna Yojana.

“Today is the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati and we held our cabinet meeting here to remember the occasion. We have taken various decisions on the occasion. Our government’s commitment towards farmers is the foremost and we have decided in our cabinet meeting that farmers will get interest free loans. The interest will be paid by the state government. We have also passed the nod to form a Jain welfare board,” CM Yadav said.
CM Yadav also praised the women after transferring the funds of Ladli Behna Yojana and Gas Refill Scheme saying when the women get money in their hands, it brought happiness and power to the house and it was the work in the direction of women empowerment.
“When we had decided to organise a program here on the birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati, I said that Ladli Behnas should get money in their accounts. I am happy to say that today, we have transferred an amount of Rs 28 crores to over 24 lakh behnas under the Gas Refill Scheme. Our opposition party used to say that the government is not proving the benefit of the Gas refill scheme, if they have eyes then they should watch our government is transferring the money. We are paying Rs 450 every month to Ladli behnas for Gas Refill Scheme,” CM said.
“Additionally, there are around 2.5 lakh Ladli behnas in Damoh district alone. Today, Rs 1574 crores has been deposited in the bank accounts of 1.29 crore beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana. Women should not worry, this amount is going to increase gradually. When women get money in their hands, it brings happiness and power to the house and it is the work in the direction of women empowerment,” he added.
Meanwhile, he also took a jibe at the Congress party, saying the opposition claimed that the government was wasting money, but they never gave money to women and only raised questions.
“The opposition says that the government is wasting money but you (referring to Congress) never give money to them, you always expressed doubts in the Ladli Behna Yojana and raised questions but it is our BJP government and we will work to fulfil all our promises. There will be no shortage in such schemes at all. We will make Lakhpati Behna in the future and we are working on the plan,” CM further said.
Additionally, an amount of Rs 332.71 crores has been transferred to over 55 lakh beneficiaries under the Social Security Pension, CM said.
“Our state government is committed to development. We will make Damoh a tourist centre. A health centre will be built in Singrampur and a CM school will also be built here. A mangal bhawan will also be built for Rani Durgavati in Damoh. A stop dam will also be made here. No stone will be left unturned in the development of Damoh district,” CM added. (ANI)
