New Delhi [India], October 10 (ANI): Delhi’s Dwarka Court recorded the evidence of deceased Nikki Yadav’s father who deposed that during a search at her flat marriage certificate of his daughter and Sahil was recovered by Delhi police.
Nikki Yadav was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner Sahil Gehlot in February 2023 and her dead body was stuffed in a refrigerator in a dhaba in Mitraun village.
Delhi Police crime branch had booked Sahil Gehlot, his father and other accused in this case.
After framing of charges, this matter is at the stage of recording of Prosecution evidence.
Additional Sessions Judge’s Court recorded the statement of Nikki Yadav’s father and her sister. Their examination chief have recorded and cross examination have been deferred.
In his evidence, her father deposed that during investigation her was taken to Nikki’s flat in Uttam Nagar. Police had recovered marriage certificate of Nikki and Sahil was recovered from the flat.
He also deposed that he had called on Nikki’s Mobile which was found switched off. He also talked to Sahil after her daughter Nidhi had given his number to him. He had also spoke with father of Sahil.
In his deposition, he said that Sahil had informed him that Nikki had gone to Dehradun and her phone was with him. He was told by Sahil that he was busy in his marriage, he would go in search of Nikki.
Her father further deposed that on February 14, 2023, he was informed by the Delhi police that his daughter has been murdered and her body has been found in Mitraun.
During the evidence, the additional public prosecutor (APP) said that the witness was resiling from his previous statement given to police.
With the court’s permission the APP cross examined him. During cross examination, he deposed that her younger daughter Nidhi came to home in Jhajjar on February 11, 2023 and told him that there was marriage of Sahil on February 10. When Nikki came to know this, she had called Sahil on the flat on February 9.
Sahil and Nikki had a quarrel on the issue of his marriage as she told him that had already married. Next morning Sahil had taken Nikki in his car from the flat.
The court posted the cross examination on November 16. Accused Lokesh Yadav was represented by advocate Kush Sharma.
Delhi police on May 12 filed a charge sheet against Sahil and five other accused persons including his father for allegedly murdering Nikki Yadav in the month of February. Six accused are in judicial custody.
This matter is related to the murder allegedly committed by her live in partner Sahil Gahlot. After committing the offence he got married to another girl of the choice of his family. After murder the body was stuffed in a refrigerator in Dhaba of Sahil.
Delhi police crime branch filed the charge sheet in Dwarka Court. The charge sheet has been filed under section 302, 201, 202, 212, 120B Part 1 and 34 IPC. These sections related to murder, destruction of evidence, criminal conspiracy. The charge sheet has 576 pages containing the operating part, documents, list of witnesses and CCTV footage etc.
Sahil was arrested on February 14. He allegedly murdered Nikki, his live-in partner. Later on other accused were arrested by the Crime branch.
Delhi police had arrested Sahil’s father, two cousins Ashish and Naveen and two friends Amar and Lokesh after the interrogation.
According to the police during interrogation Sahil had disclosed that the deceased was asking him not to marry another girl because both (Sahil and deceased) had already solemnised their marriage in the year 2020. She was actually his wife and not a live-in partner. Therefore she was pleading with him not to go ahead with the marriage fixed by his family with another girl on February 10, 2023, police said.
Thereafter, they hatched the conspiracy and planned to remove the deceased from their way, police alleged.
Accordingly, Sahil Gahlot executed the plan and murdered her and informed the other co-accused persons about it on the same day on February 10, 2023 and then all of them went ahead with the marriage ceremony.
It is alleged that he allegedly murder her as she was pressuring him to marry her. It is also alleged that he married another girl after the alleged crime. (ANI)
