“No question of withdrawing fast, not until student demands are met”: Jan Suraaj party chief – World News Network

Patna (Bihar) [India], January 4 (ANI): Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor has vowed to continue his indefinite fast until the Bihar government meets the demands of protesting BPSC students.
“There is no question of withdrawing my fast, not until the demands of the students are met. We suggested from our end that the CM should meet the students and together they should bring out a solution. If that happens then I have no problem stopping the fast,” he told ANI.
The students are calling for the cancellation of the Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on December 13, due to alleged question paper leaks.
Kishor emphasized that he won’t withdraw his fast until the students’ demands are heard and met. He suggested that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should meet with the students to find a solution.
“Till the student’s demands are met, who have come here leaving everything to protest in the cold, till then the fast and protest cannot stop, I have said this to the administration,” said Kishor.
He also responded to allegations made by MP Pappu Yadav, who claimed that Kishor was secretly consuming food while on a hunger strike. Kishor stated that he’s open to criticism, but emphasised that his focus remains on supporting the BPSC students’ demands
“If someone criticises me, but still supports the students, I have no problems with that. I even told Tejashwi Yadav, that he is the leader of the opposition (in Bihar Assembly), he should lead and we will be behind him. If he comes here, even Rahul Gandhi comes here, then the student’s problems will be solved,” he said.
Doctor Rajeev Ranjan also visited Kishor to check his health during the protest. He said that there seemed to be no complications and advised him to protect against the cold waves.

“For now, whatever I have seen, he is fit. As for protecting against the cold, there is only one solution, to cover oneself. As the cold wave comes, then one has to stay protected against that dangerous cold wave. In all parameters, it can be said that there is no danger to him (Prashant Kishor), I think his immunity might be good from before itself that is why he is okay now,” the doctor said. (ANI)
