“Our district does not have many facilities”: Kairana MP Iqra Hasan demands direct train from Shamli to Vaishno Devi – World News Network

New Delhi [India], July 27 (ANI): Samajwadi Party MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Kairana, Iqra Munawwar Hasan, said that her constituency lacks many facilities, and demanded the Railway Ministry to initiate direct train services connecting Shamli with Prayagraj and Vaishno Devi.
She also pointed out that the area needs a line that connects Haryana and Western UP, as it will benefit the region a lot.
“Our district is a new district, it was formed 10 years ago; earlier, it was a part of Muzaffarnagar. So our district does not have many facilities that should be there. Train facilities, which are local transportation facilities that make life easy for the common people do not exist right now. Especially if we look at trains, we need a line that connects Haryana and Western UP, this will benefit the region a lot and this demand has been going on for a long time but it is not happening,” she said.
“Since our High Court is in Prayagraj, there is no train there either and there is also a huge demand for Vaishno Devi as we have a lot of devotees here who face problems. So this is our effort that these problems of our area should be taken cognizance of and resolved,” Iqra Hasan added further.
In her maiden speech in the Lok Sabha on Friday, the Samajwadi Party MP also asserted rail connectivity between Shamli, Prayagraj and Vaishno Devi.
Iqra Hasan was pitted against BJP’s Pradeep Kumar from Kairana. She won the Kairana seat with a margin of 69,116 votes.
The SP bagged 37 seats alone, thereby emerging as the single largest party in Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha polls. SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav and leader Dimple Yadav won from Kannauj and Mainpuri respectively, with huge margins.
The vote share of the party stood at 33.59 per cent.
The BJP, on the other hand, managed to secure 33 seats, much lower than its 2019 tally. Some of the prominent seats that it lost include– Faizabad, Amethi, and Raebareli. (ANI)
