“Priyanka Gandhi ran away to Wayanad”: BJP hits out at Congress over her seat choice – World News Network

New Delhi [India], October 24 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari hit out at the Congress party, accusing them Priyanka Gandhi of ‘running away to Wayanad’ and only fighting in seats which they feel comfortable on.
“The Gandhi family chooses such areas to contest elections where the Muslim vote is 30pc or more and the Gandhi family feels safe there,” he told ANI on Thursday.
“Priyanka Gandhi ran away to Wayanad because she knows that her brother Rahul Gandhi contested from there and he got 90% of the Muslim vote and Priyanka Gandhi is trying to win on this vote,” he added.
He further called Congress as the ‘modern Muslim League,’ saying that Congress wants to ‘divide hindu society.’
“That is why they want to divide the Hindu society and do not talk about the castes of the Muslim society. People across the country accuse the Congress party of appeasement politics,” he added.
Further claiming that the party had lost 90 per cent of its election deposits in Uttar Pradesh, he said, “I want to tell Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, you said mein ladki hu mein lad sakti hu (I am a woman I can fight), but 90pc of deposits were lost there because their vote bank did not come to their rescue there.”
On Wednesday Priyanka Gandhi filed her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll in Kerala, marking her electoral debut. She filed the nomination in the presence of top leaders of the party.
“Filing my nomination for the Wayanad by-election today was a moment filled with emotion. The love you’ve shown to Rahul Ji, and now to me, is something I carry with me every step of the way. Wayanad’s strength lies in its people-their kindness, resilience, and belief in a better future,” Priyanka Gandhi posted on X.
She also assured the people that she will raise the issues which matter to the people.
“I will listen to your voices, raise the issues that matter to you, and work tirelessly for the progress of Wayanad. To every supporter, every UDF worker, and every family that stood by us- thank you from the depths of my heart,” she added. (ANI)
