“Process is being worked out to raise new party unit in West Bengal”: Ghulam Ahmad Mir – World News Network

New Delhi [India], July 30 (ANI): Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir hinted at the formation of a new party unit in West Bengal after meeting with Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal in Delhi and said a process is being worked out to raise a new party high command in the state.
“After Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal PCC President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury presented his resignation to the party high command. A process is being worked out to raise a new party unit in the state, for which many meetings have been held… After extensive talks with the party cadre, an easy roadmap will be created to set up a structure in the state as per the wishes of the people,” Mir told ANI.
“The Congress high command interacted one-on-one with around 25 leaders of West Bengal about the future roadmap of the party and to strengthen the party in the upcoming assembly election of their state. The focus of today’s meeting was how to take Congress forward in the future in West Bengal,” he added.
Thanking Congress leadership for the steps they took for the formation of a new unit in the state, the Congress leader said, “This is a good setup from AICC, Congress President and General Secretary organisation.”
Earlier on Monday, West Bengal Congress leaders met party General Secretary KC Venugopal and discussions were held on how to strengthen the Congress party in the state.
Congress leader Isha Khan Choudhary, in his meeting with Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, said, “We had a meeting about how to strengthen our party in West Bengal. We asked for suggestions from everyone. We discussed what more we can do in West Bengal.”
On being asked about any major changes in the party’s leadership in the TMC-ruled state, Choudhary said that it was the decision of the high command.
“It will be decided by the high command. The main reason for the meeting is for the strengthening of the organisation in West Bengal,” he said.
Currently, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is the President of Congress in West Bengal and it is speculative that there might be changes in the role after he lost the Baharampur constituency in Lok Sabha 2024. (ANI)
