“They put Kejriwal in jail in a false case” AAP’s Sushil Gupta slams BJP – World News Network

New Delhi [India], September 13 (ANI): Following the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar jail on bail, Aam Aadmi Party’s Haryana Chief Sushil Gupta on Friday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Sushil Gupta said that BJP should feel ‘ashamed’ as it had put Kejriwal in jail in a ‘false case’.
“This is a big slap on the face of the BJP. They should feel ashamed that they put Arvind Kejriwal in jail in a false case…I congratulate everyone and there is excitement in Haryana. Arvind Kejriwal will come to Haryana and we will form the government in Haryana,” Sushil Gupta said.
Meanwhile, AAP’s Jasmine Shah welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Kejriwal in Delhi excise policy case.
“Today all the leaders and workers of Aam Aadmi Party have come to welcome CM Arvind Kejriwal. The decision given by the Supreme Court today is a message to the people of the country that no government is above the Constitution,” Shah said.
Shah further accused CBI for ‘working like a parrot’ and questioned BJP for not ‘starting the trial’.
“The Supreme Court has made it clear that the CBI was working like a parrot, a government parrot… Questions should be asked from the BJP today. For the last two years you have been shouting that a very big scam has happened, then why are you not starting the trial?” Shah said.
Arvind Kejriwal was released from Tihar jail on Friday evening, hours after the Supreme Court granted him bail.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with the case.
On May 10, the Supreme Court granted him interim bail till June 1 in the money laundering case registered by the ED in connection with the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy. However, the court ordered that he should not visit the Office of the Chief Minister or the Delhi Secretariat. In compliance with this directive, he surrendered on June 2.
On June 26, he was arrested by the CBI while in ED custody in the excise case. On July 12, the Supreme Court granted him interim bail in the ED case, but Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court extended his CBI custody. (ANI)
