Agartala (Tripura) [India], September 18 (ANI): Tripura Pradesh Congress President Asish Kumar Saha on Wednesday filed a complaint against Maharastra MLA Sanjay Gaikwad, Union Minister Ranveet Singh Bittu, ex-BJP MLA Tarvinder Singh and Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Singh over their recent remarks towards Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
In his letter to the officer in charge of the West Agartala Police Station, Saha alleged that the Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad made a statement on September 16 to the public calling out the populace “to cut the tongue” of Rahul Gandhi and further stated that Gaikwad would pay “Rs 11 lakhs to whoever will be able to cut the tongue” of the Congress leader.
Saha further alleged that Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu also made a statement on Rahul Gandhi on September 12, calling out the Congress leader as an “extremist” and that Gandhi was “not an Indian,” as well as “number 1 enemy of India.”
“Similar allegations were also made by Tarvinder Singh, Ex-BJP MLA, Delhi and Raghuraj Singh, Uttar Pradesh Minister,” Saha said in his letter.
Saha said that both Gaikwad’s and Singh’s remarks had been made to harm and defame Rahul Gandhi as well as the Indian National Congress Party and that they should be punishable under Section 351(3), 356, 353(2)(3), and 353(1)(c) of the BNS, 2023.
He also requested that the complaint be treated as an FIR against the leaders for their remarks on Rahul Gandhi.
“Myself and all Congress workers are severely hurt by the acts of all the persons mentioned above. So, you are requested to treat this complaint as an FIR against both persons, namely (1) Mr Sanjay Gaikwad and (2) Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu; (3) Mr Tarvinder Singh, Ex-BJP MLA, Delhi; and (4) Raghuraj Singh, Uttar Pradesh Minister u/s 351(3)/356/353(2)(3)/353(1)(c) of the BNS, 2023 and it is also being prayer for proper investigation so that both of them are punished immediately for the said offences,” Saha added.
