Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 17 (ANI): A state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday approved the presentation of the supplementary budget in the assembly session to be held in Gairsain from August 21.
Tribute was paid to Captain Deepak Singh, who was killed in action, by observing two minutes of silence in his memory.
Further, important decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting.
The state cabinet expressed special gratitude and thanks to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for re-determining the rates of NDRF and SDRF by the letter dated August 14 from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India and the Disaster Management Division.
Additionally, discussions were also held regarding the approval to change the name of the institutes related to policy planning in the state.
‘State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (Setu)’ would be changed to ‘State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (Setu) Commission’ on the lines of the commission constituted by the Government of India.
Further, discussions were also held regarding the approval to promulgate Uttarakhand Food Security Service Cadre (Group A, B and C) Service Amendment Rules 2024.
Approval to table the annual financial representation of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited for the financial year 2022-23 under the Department of Energy and Alternative Energy in the Assembly was also discussed.
Additionally, the CM also decided to remove the ban on the appointment of dependents of the deceased in the cooperative and public sector sugar mills of the state based on the government’s order dated June 12, 2018, to the extent of “Dependents of 68 permanent personnel of cooperative and public sector sugar mills of the state should be employed as dependents of deceased in the concerned sugar mill as per rules on the basis of their eligibility, qualification and vacancies”.
